These terms keep things fair on both sides of the cutting table. They are written to be read — short, clear, and honest — and they apply whenever you place an order, book an appointment, or commission a piece from the atelier.
Essca Atelier is operated by Tiky Investments Limited, trading as “Essca Atelier”, based in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago. By using this site, placing an order, or booking an appointment, you agree to these terms. Questions first? Write to hello@esscaatelier.com.
Placing an order is an offer to purchase. Your order is accepted when we send the order confirmation by email — and by WhatsApp, if you shared a number. We may decline or cancel an order where a piece is unavailable, where there has been an obvious pricing or listing error, or where we suspect fraud; if payment was already made, it will be returned.
Custom commissions are confirmed once you accept the quote and the deposit is received.
All prices on the site are listed in Trinidad & Tobago dollars (TTD) unless stated otherwise. Prices may change from time to time, but the price confirmed on your order is the price you pay. Delivery charges, where they apply, are shown at checkout before you confirm.
We accept two payment methods:
Custom and bespoke commissions require a 50% deposit to begin production, with the balance due at the final fitting or before delivery.
Most Essca pieces are made to order, by hand, by one pair of hands. Production timelines are shared when your order or commission is confirmed and are estimates made in good faith. During Carnival season, timelines can extend — we plan for it, and we will always tell you early if your date is at risk. If a piece is for a specific occasion, tell us the date when you order so we can confirm it is achievable.
Fittings and studio visits are by appointment. If you need to reschedule, please give us at least 24 hours' notice so the slot can go to someone else. If you are running late, message us — we will do our best to hold your time. Repeated missed appointments without notice may require a booking deposit for future visits, and missed final fittings may extend your delivery date.
All designs, patterns, sketches, photography, and content on this site are the property of Tiky Investments Limited. Commissioning a custom piece gives you ownership of the garment itself — not of the underlying design or pattern, which remain ours and may not be reproduced commercially. We love to photograph finished pieces for the atelier's portfolio; for custom clients, we only share images with your consent.
Every piece is handmade — small variations in beading, drape, and finish are part of its character, not defects. To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of Trinidad & Tobago, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Exchanges, repairs, and refunds — including how custom pieces and deposits are handled — are covered in our Refund & Returns Policy, which forms part of these terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Trinidad and Tobago.
Anything unclear, or anything you would like to talk through before ordering — email hello@esscaatelier.com or visit the contact page. We reply to every message ourselves.
